Last Major Blogging Experience

Throughout these last few months i have encountered many new, fun, and exciting learning experiences. Astronomy- What i liked most about astronomy was that when Gage, Ozzy, and I did our Extra Terrestrial podcast. We had so much fun learning about Extra Terrestrials and letting our classmates learn more about ALIENS!!!

Earlier in the year as one of our blog posts we learned about Weather and Climate- What i liked most was when I created my first Google docs picture about cloud formation. It was a whole new experience, along with having my first web_page/ blog.

What causes the seasons? I didn't know what caused the seasons until we studied Geology as a class. My favorite post was when I learned about these seasons, and that they are caused by earths tilt on its axis and the rotation of earth on its axis. It was fun.

My favorite part of the whole year was when Ozzy and I created our video about weathering and erosion. Ozzy and I went to the Garden of the Gods and filmed the funnest project of the year. For me anyways. We had so much fun while getting the job done at the same time.

The Pixton Comic I did on stream pollution was also fun. I was not to long ago introduced to Pixton comics. On this blog post I tried to make it funny but yet serious because stream pollution has a great effect on our world eventually making its way to oceans killing ocean life and stream life. This is what trash can do in streams.

All in all, personally i didn't really care for blogging at first. But after I had done it so many times for homework i found it to be pretty fun after all. Goodbye blogging. Goodbye Mrs. Casey. Hello High School.

Water cycle

1. What is the water cycle?
The water cycle is a cycle where water is reused, the cycle is that clouds condensate, then the water in the clouds precipitates, after that the water goes onto the world below and evaporates back into the clouds, an then it starts all over again. The sun is the main energy source for this process.
2. Does the water cycle have a beginning or end?
The water really has no begging or end its just a ongoing process but i guess you can consider the evaporation point a starting point because the sun must evaporate the water , and if theres no precipitation before that evaporation could be a starting point.
3. Starting with a puddle on a sunny day, describe how water might move through the water cycle and eventually fall back as rain.
Well the puddle of water will evaporate due to the suns energy therefor going into the clouds condensating and then raining when to much condensation gets in the clouds raining ( condensation ) an dropping to the ground going into runoff in lakes and rivers. starting over again after that.
4. Create a diagram (using Google docs or word) of the puddle to rain scenario you created for extra credit.

Stream Pollution Comic!!

Stream Pollution

http://chamisa.freeshell.org/pollution

This great website gave me alot of information. It told me how Diseases and other health problems can be spread through streams by peoples trash and litter. Some diseases are cholera and dysentery.

http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/GG/ASK/waterpol3

This site let me view Effects on people by stream pollution. How it could hurt us ? Also How it effects everyone? This made me see that stream pollution is a serious problem.

http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/GG/ASK/waterpol3
This website let me know some sources of stream pollution. Such as Factories and Refineries. And the bad things that may come from the refineries and enter the streams.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/158335

This website let me see how we can help stop this pollution. Simply by just picking up trash and throwing it away. Also by giving a big contribution by donating funds to stopping water pollution.

Stream Pollution!!

1.What, specifically about your topic, are you going to research?
How does stream pollution effect human life and animal life?
2.What conclusions did you come to? What do you recommend average citizens do to make a difference? Be specific. This is the main part of your assignment.
Stream Pollution effects people and animals everyday. Have you looked around your neighborhood lately, have you seen trash on you street and by your gutters. When ever there is a rainy day, that trash washes out mostly into gutters and sometimes into streams which can lead to rivers and eventually into oceans. This not only affects human lives, but also animal life. Animals don't have purified water, they have streams and rivers. So every time you pour your old coke from McDonald's out on the gravel when your driving and there is no trash can, that can effect animal life. Because that coke could pour into a river or stream and could essentially kill the fish in it or effect them in great way. It also may effect human life because it pollutes our water sources and maybe that water doesn't get purified fully you could become very sick. People should find a trash can and throw away their trash and not throw it in streams.
3.What would happen if, worst-case scenario, nobody listened to your recommendations?Peoples and animals waters would become polluted and could cause death. Many animals would die off therefor possibly becoming instinct. It would effect our well being because some animals keep away or kill other harmful animals to humans.people would be effected because they could recieve a sickness like rabies from a dead animal in a river.
4.What would happen if, best-case senario, everybody listened to your recommendations? Many animals would be roaming free, and stayng safe and healthy, but also helping by keeping away bad animals so we can stay safe too. The people of the world will keep our streams clean and having alot better chance of being disease free.

penny & water big Whoop n 14

In this penny procedure, you are to take a penny and see how many drops of water you can fit on a penny without any spilling off. My prediction was about 14 drops. The outcome came to be 12 drops. The water droplets put on the penny finally added up and over took the pennies surface therefor falling off.

Greenland Ice Caps

Here at the Greenland Ice Caps in the Northern Atlantic lay a huge body of water withholding many Glaciers and Ice Caps. Tourists may come here to visit these huge Ice caps. Also to see the Animals that may live on or near these Ice Caps. Scientists and Marine Biologists also may come here to see the relationship between the animals and the Ice Caps along with studying the Temperature of the Glacier and if it could lead to Global Warming. The Greenland Ice Caps are amazing naturally made things. It contains many Ice caps and animals such as Orcas. As long as these Ice Caps create and destroy life for many animals giving the animals the water they live in. Also giving animals food and shelter. Sailors might enter this water for food such as Orcas that also can be used as petroleum. These Ice Caps also are fresh water because the snow and ice in and on it are fresh water. However the ocean surrounding them are salt water.
