Weather Fronts

Cold Fronts: What happens in the Cold front is that warm air is all around area but since cold air is denser, it pushes the warm air out of the area and the cold air takes its place because its denser.

Warm Fronts: When a slow moving warm front, hits a slow moving cold front. Since cold air is denser the warm air rises over the cold air. If the warm air is humid it creates clouds. But if its dry it scattered clouds form.

Stationary Fronts: Sometimes cold and warm air masses connect and hit each other so they dual out. But neither mass has enough force to push one away. So this can cause hail, sleet, snow, and or rain to occur in that area.

Occluded Front: A Occluded front is where a warm air mass is caught between two cold air masses. So when one of the cold air masses reaches the warm air mass it pushes the warm air high up in the air because the cold air is denser. The two cold air masses may become one if connected. While the warm air mass high in the air begins condensation and may create weather clouds that may snow, rain, or hail.

The Green House Gas

The Green house effect. When sunlight travels through the atmosphere to earths surface. Earths surface then gives off infared radiation. Much of this energy is held by the atmosphere therefore heating the air. But not all of the infared radiation can make it back out to space. The leftovers are then absorbed by water vapor, carbon dioxide, and many other gases. Many animals should be worried about this although they may not know it. It is a big problem and it is one of the major causes to global warming. It is destroying much habitat for arctic animals.

SMOGYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!1

PhotoChemical Smog is formed by the action of sunlight on pollutants such as Hydro Carbons and Nitrogen oxides in the air. These chemicals react and form a brownish mixtureof ozone and other pollutants. The ozone here in the troposphere created by the mixtures of hydro carbons and nitrogen oxides from the sunlight can cause irritation to the throat, eyes, and lungs. Many newer cars cause less polution and so do many new powerplants. People can also use other forms of transportation too. Such as walking or riding a bike.

LiFe!!!!!!!!$! EaRtHs AtMoSpHeRe

Earths atmosphere is like a life giving blanket that surrounds it. You see, the atmosphere on Earth is one of the most, well it really is the most essential necessity needed to live on Earth. The atmosphere on Earth provides AIR! Most of you may think that our air is almost alloxygen yet its just the opposite. Our Air ( Atmosphere ) is made up mostly of Nitrogen which is 78% of our Atmosphere. While only 21% is Oxygen. What about the other 1% though. Well that other 1% is made up of many other gases like Argon. Thats how our Earth is so different from the moon. Because if you tried to live on the Moon, the moon has almost no atmosphere which means almost no air. Without air though, there is no life. Thats the same with many other planets too. If other planets do not have air which is the most essential part of life. There is not a suitable living place for us humans.

SpAcE ExPlOrAtIoN

The Science of Rockets: Since the late 1950's, NASA ( National Aeronautics and Space Administration ) has used Atlas Rockets to launch probes and satellites into space. For governmental and Commercial issues. There are three parts to a rocket, The atlas, The centaur, and The payload.

The Space Program:The NASA program began in 1958. In 1969 just 11 years after the program was started was when man set foot on the moon. Then just 1 year later on April 12 was when NASA launched the Apollo 13 Shuttle.

Exploring Space Today:The ISS- The International Space Station consists of a small robot that's by a astronauts side while in space. And assists him/her. Space exploration has changed allot since the 1950's and the 1960's to the modern day. NASA uses what we know as probes to send into space instead of humans to explore the galaxy and other planets.

Using Space Science on Earth:You see NASA uses many things that we adopted from them that we hare on earth use daily. Some consumer products that we adopted from NASA are the Joystick and Bar codes that you see at the grocery stores. Some materials that we got from them are Flexible metal and Fire resistant materials like what our Fire Fighters use. We also got new medical devices like Lasers. We finally adopted the satellites that rotate around the earth providing us with television and cellphone usage.

What cause the seasons?

What causes the Seasons on Earth? You may be wandering what causes it. You see, the Earth is on a tilt and the axis that we revolve around causes it. Due to that tilt when we revolve around Sun is when it changes seasons. So when the Northern Hemisphere is facing the Sun its summer. But when its not facing the sun is when it is winter here in the Northern Hemisphere. As you can see the reasons that we have seasons are because of the Earths tilt.

ZOOM, by: Istvan Banyai

Zoom gives a lot of people a perspective of how big and yet how small our world is. In the video of " Powers of Ten " on you tube. The video shows you how small our world is on video from galaxies away. Yet, it also shows you how big it is from our point of view. Zoom is great book of how so many people make wrong inferences about how big our world is when its really small. Zoom and Powers of Ten are very much alike.

Perspective, what an amazing word. Perspective means to have a view of something. That is exactly what my classmates and i did when we read/viewed the book Zoom and watched Powers of Ten. You may not know this but everyday you use perspective. Even when you reading your still using perspective.

Many scientists use perspective too. Everyone does, scientists especially use it in astronomy. Many Astronimists use perspectives to make views of things we never seen before. They use perspective so well they can even determine how many years it will take before the world has made one full rotation on its axis. That's how precise and accurate the data must be that they collect from satellites in outer space.

As you can see we, whether you know it or not use perspective in our everyday lives.

Enigma Box

During a course of observations, many scientists use skills to make comparisons. These Skills
consists of Observing, which means using one or more of your sense to gather info. Another skill
scientists use is inferring which means writing down and explaining from past references what
you see.The next skill is predicting which many scientists use to basically forecast of what you
think is gonna happen.
When you see the Enigma box work for the first time you gaze and wonder at it. How does
it work you may say? Well why dont you find out. I mean when i saw the Enigma box work for the
first time i thought that it must be electric or something. So whats going on in there i asked?
Well why dont you find out right now!!
The Enigma Box is a puzzle to the mind. No one really knew how the Enigma box.
Until Now. Okay, so what happens is that when water or fluid amount raises to a high enough
amount, a over flow occurs which means the air pressurepushes down on the fluid which pushes
the fluids up a twisted rubber tube and out the bottom.
The Manufactured Enigma Box holds
approximately
450 milliliters.
The homemade Enigma Box holds approximately 1700 ml.
As you can see the Enigma box is a little tricky for the first time. But as i showed
you the inside of the Enigma Box it should make a little more sense now. All in all the
Enigma Box is a crazy weird device its still a great wondering device to many.
